Senior Advocates of the Desert is the Coachella Valley’s only nonprofit dedicated exclusively to helping low-income seniors obtain their government benefits.

Many seniors are entitled to Social Security, Medi-Cal, or VA benefits but find the paperwork insurmountable. Their team provides free, one-on-one assistance to navigate these systems, often resulting in essential healthcare and livable income for our neighbors.

If you are looking for a high-impact way to support local seniors, they rely on grants and donations to keep these life-changing services free for those over 60.

Whether you want to learn a new skill, join a book club, or volunteer to deliver meals, Mizell is the place where community happens.

Reader Pick: Arnold Palmer's Restaurant, La Quinta

A local legend, this spot honors the King of Golf with a sophisticated yet warm atmosphere. Seniors love it for the impeccable service and the "Arnie" memorabilia throughout the restaurant.

What to order: Their steak and fresh seafood are top-tier, but many regulars come for the famous meatloaf. It's a great spot for an early dinner before the sun goes down over the La Quinta hills.
