Happy Thursday Coachella Valley Seniors!

This Week: FIND Food Bank

Food help matters even more when the weather turns severe. A trip to the store gets harder, utility bills climb, and a quiet pantry shelf can start to feel like one more thing to worry about. FIND Food Bank helps take some of that pressure off families and older adults across the Coachella Valley.

The Indio-based food bank distributes food through more than 100 sites across a huge service area, including community partners and mobile markets. Their map helps neighbors find nearby distribution locations, which is useful when transportation, heat, or health make long errands more difficult.

FIND also participates in the Commodity Supplemental Food Program, which provides monthly food support for eligible low-income adults age 60 and older. That kind of steady, practical help can make the difference between stretching meals and having enough.

If you or someone you know could use food support, start with their map and see what is close to home.

This Week: Paradise Cove Cafe, Palm Desert

44150 Town Center Way, Palm Desert, CA

Paradise Cove Cafe is the kind of breakfast place people like to claim as their own. It is tucked into Palm Desert, opens early, and leans into big, comforting breakfast plates that make a morning outing feel worthwhile.

The star here is the pancake menu. The cafe is known for scratch-kitchen pancakes and bold breakfast dishes, but the menu gives you plenty of room beyond sweets too. Think omelets, eggs, breakfast classics, and the kind of plates that make a casual table feel like a treat.

This is a smart one for summer because breakfast is the right time to go. Get there early, order something generous, and be home before the afternoon heat starts taking over.

Senior food boxes are available locally

FIND Food Bank participates in a senior food program for eligible low-income adults age 60 and older. Applications are open at program sites, and the monthly food boxes can help stretch groceries during expensive summer months.
